Ladyfield Dumfries - a sustainable community?

A short introduction to the Scottish Sustainability Communities Initiative and how this has been developed by the Crichton team in Dumfries for the Ladyfield site

Building on the work of the past 15 years, where they have created the award winning Crichton project in Dumfries, the team is now working to add in a sustainable community of 400 houses working with the Crichton Carbon Centre. 

The project has also tested out the Charrette approach to developing the master plan pioneered by the New Urbanist movement in USA and led by Andres Duany and his staff from DPZ based in Miami.
